1. Data Processing on Your Device

RecoverAny is designed as a local-first application. We do not upload your recovered files to our servers. All scanning, previewing, and recovery operations are performed locally on your Mac.

Your file contents never leave your computer.
We do not have access to the files you are recovering.
Scan results are stored in temporary memory (RAM) and are cleared when you close the application.

2. Information We Collect

To provide, maintain, and improve our services, we may collect the following limited types of information:

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage statistics to understand how features are being used (e.g., "Deep Scan started", "Recovery successful"). This data does not contain personal information or file names.

Crash Reports

If the App crashes, we may collect a crash log to help us fix the issue. This log contains technical information about the crash (stack trace, device model, macOS version) but does not include your personal user data.

License Information

When you activate the Pro version, we verify your license key with our activation server. We record the activation status and your device's unique hardware ID to prevent license abuse.
